Focus and Scope

Focus and Scope of the VOICE Journal (Volunteer Outreach, Innovation, and Community Empowerment)

The VOICE Journal is dedicated to the exploration and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of volunteerism, community outreach, and social innovation. We aim to bridge the gap between research, practice, and policy by providing a platform for impactful work that promotes sustainable development and empowerment in communities across the globe.

Focus:

The VOICE Journal focuses on studies, projects, and initiatives that contribute to the following areas:

  1. Volunteerism and Community Outreach:
Research and case studies on the role of volunteers in addressing community challenges. This includes grassroots volunteer programs, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and international volunteer networks. We focus on how volunteerism can lead to tangible, positive changes in local communities and the social fabric.

  2. Social Innovation:
Articles that showcase creative solutions to complex social problems. These innovations can range from new technologies, practices, policies, or business models designed to improve community welfare, education, health, and overall quality of life. The emphasis is on sustainable, scalable, and replicable solutions that make a measurable impact.

  3. Community Empowerment:
Research that emphasizes the development and empowerment of underserved, vulnerable, and marginalized communities. This includes initiatives aimed at building local capacity, leadership development, increasing civic engagement, and fostering social inclusion. We welcome papers that explore empowerment strategies, participatory development, and self-sufficiency within communities.

  4. Impact of Volunteer-led Initiatives:
Understanding the effectiveness of volunteer-driven programs and projects. The journal encourages submissions that measure the outcomes, effectiveness, and challenges faced by volunteer-based organizations and initiatives, and that provide insights into how these efforts can be optimized for greater impact.

  5. Collaborative and Cross-sector Partnerships:
Articles that highlight collaborations between non-profit organizations, government agencies, businesses, and local communities. We focus on partnerships that bring together diverse stakeholders for community development, including collaborative models, public-private partnerships, and cross-sector alliances.
